My work as a beekeeper taught me something simple and powerful: when pollinators thrive, our entire environment thrives with them. Bees sustain our food supply, support local farms, strengthen ecosystems, and contribute to the health of our communities. Their decline is not just an environmental concern. It is an economic concern, an agricultural concern, and a community wellbeing concern.
Protecting pollinators is not just a catchy headline. It is a serious responsibility that connects directly to the future we hope to build.
What I Will Do:
Expand Local Pollinator Habitats
Encourage and protect spaces where bees and other pollinators can thrive, including parks, gardens, and community green areas.
Support Beekeepers and Conservation Programs
Provide access to resources, education, and equipment for new and experienced beekeepers, and foster partnerships with schools and community organizations.
Protect the Agricultural Economy
Strengthen support for farmers and gardeners who rely on pollination to ensure healthier harvests and a stable local food system.
Raise Community Awareness
Create workshops, school programs, and community initiatives that teach residents how to protect and support pollinators in their own neighborhoods.

The issues facing seniors and retirees cannot be fixed with guesses or surface level assumptions. My time working at Navy Federal showed me how real this problem is. I spoke with retired and senior residents every day who were preparing to move away because the cost of living was rising, their income was fixed, and they felt the state was no longer built for them. To hear those stories time and time again is what pushed me to take this issue seriously.
We need a clear and accurate understanding of what our residents are experiencing, why so many are leaving the state, and which policy choices create real results. The Commission for Senior Stability and Retiree Retention provides that clarity. Its purpose is to identify the problems seniors encounter, study the reasons they move away, and measure the true economic impact of any action that affects them. This ensures that every decision we make is backed by facts, transparency, and a complete understanding of the return that comes from retaining our residents and supporting their ability to live with stability and dignity.
The Senior Stability & Retiree Retention Commission:
1. Identify the Real Issues Seniors Face
The Commission will locate, track, and review the challenges affecting seniors and retirees. This includes rising property taxes, gaps in healthcare access, housing constraints, transportation barriers, and consumer protection concerns.
2. Analyze Why Seniors Are Leaving the State
Instead of relying on broad explanations such as taxes, the Commission will conduct comprehensive studies into the real causes of retiree and senior migration. This includes cost of living pressures, tax burdens, access to services, quality of life factors, and competition from nearby states.
3. Evaluate the Economic Efficiency of Policy Proposals
The Commission will calculate the real costs and real benefits of actions that affect both seniors and retirees, to determine the economic impact that legislative decisions have on seniors and retirees across the state.
For example, the Senior Stability & Retiree Retention Commission will:
Determine the upfront budget impact of legislative actions which primarily affect seniors and retirees, in addition to examining the long-term economic impact of such decisions.
-
Identify retention rate patterns connected to specific legislative actions and the migration trends of seniors and retirees, both current and historical.
-
Provide accurate projections of the long term economic impact that results from retaining our residents, rather than losing them to other states.

Strong communities start with engaged, supported youth. My approach is simple: connect young people to the grassroots organizations, programs, and experiences that truly impact their lives, while supporting hobbies and interests that spark curiosity, creativity, and responsibility.
Plan of Action:
Connect Youth to Impactful Programs
Partner with local nonprofits and community organizations that provide mentorship, leadership, and real-world experiences that strengthen skills, confidence, and civic engagement.
Support Hobbies and Personal Growth
Encourage participation in hands-on activities like beekeeping, sports, art, animal care, and more. Hobbies teach responsibility, foster creativity, and help youth discover their passions.
Build Community Bridges
Create opportunities for young people to engage with neighbors, local leaders, and professionals who model positive habits, inspire growth, and strengthen the social fabric of our neighborhoods.
Celebrate Achievement and Effort
Recognize the dedication, creativity, and achievements of young people in school, sports, arts, and community initiatives, showing them that their work matters and their voices are heard.

Programs like 287(g), which ask local law enforcement to act as federal immigration agents, place impossible demands on officers and pull them away from their core mission of keeping our communities safe. At the same time, many Maryland residents facing immigration proceedings find themselves navigating a complex and intimidating system without proper legal support. Every person deserves fairness, dignity, and access to court appointed attorneys to ensure justice is applied equally. Eliminating 287(g) allows police to focus on protecting neighborhoods while building trust with the community and ensuring that residents, regardless of immigration status, are treated fairly.
My goal is to further along a system that is compassionate, clear, and effective for all members of our communities.
Steps to Ensure Fairness for All Marylanders:
Remove Conflicting Responsibilities from Police
Eliminate 287(g) programs that redirect local officers to act as federal immigration agents, allowing police to focus on keeping our communities safe.
Uphold Due Process for Marylanders in Immigration Court
Provide court appointed attorneys to ensure everyone facing immigration proceedings has access to fair and just representation.

My appreciation for those on the line of duty will remain unwavering throughout my career, and my efforts to support these communities will never cease.
The sacrifices you and your families have made to uphold our community will not be forgotten.
